Choosing a teacher training program is a huge decision and one of the biggest things to consider when making this choice is who you are going to be training with. If you like the teaching style, lifestyle, and philosophy of your trainers you will have a much better experience than if you select a training based on convenience, hoping to get hired somewhere in particular after graduation, or because you want to travel so you pick a destination training with completely random faculty. Yoga Alliance 200 Hour YTT requirements are standards and should be met by all registered training programs, but the way you come to understand yoga, what it is to be a teacher, and how to continue on your personal path can be influenced by studios, facilitator's agendas, or even the particular group you end up training with.

Our faculty all have experience leading teacher trainings, we all teach full time studio classes and lead workshops, retreats and private classes. We live and breathe this path because it is who we are, not simply what we do.

We decided to offer two very different models for our trainings: in-person trainings and online trainings. We progress through the course in similar ways in both formats. The online program is unique in that it is designed for students wanting to take the training at a moderate pace while being able to keep their weekends free. It is a very intimate and wholesome experience and our maximum number of participants is 6 in any online training program. Training in this manner allows participants to incorporate and refine their home practice from the first meeting through the rest of their lives. This is a quieter and calmer way to train while still receiving substantial hours together with your head trainers and building lasting bonds with the other students in your program.

Our studio trainings are offered on weekends. Our home base in Calgary is The Sweat Lab and we are so grateful to be able to use this spacious, warm and inviting space to provide transformational learning experiences to our students. Studio trainings give students a chance to experience the energy and intensity of working in group environments with hands-on assists and are a great opportunity to build friendships with like-minded community members that will surely last a lifetime!
